mpeg to dvdr

I have some MPEG files that I would like to put on DVDR. These files are on CDR and will run fine in my DVD player, but when I tried to put one on my DVDR threw up an error, and would now play. I wanted to put several MPEG's on one DVDR so that I could eliminate all the CDR's. How do I do this so that it will play on my DVD player?

Most DVD players will not read MPGs on a DVD disk; as soon as the player detects a DVD disk, it tries to only read it as a true DVD. The players will often play MPGs on CDs without a problem though. If you go to dvdhelp.com, you can see what formats your player will handle. Otherwise, you have to do like the rest of us and transcode the video to DVD MPG2 format and author to IFO/VOB files (DVD format) to play.

One of the easiest way (IMO) that I've been using and it works for me is:
If your mpgs are (S)VCD compliant then you can use SVCD2DVDMPG to convert them to DVD format and author with your favorite software (I used Ulead DVD MovieFactory2) and burn to DVDs.

You can get SVCD2DVDMPG here:

Guides are here:

Hope this help.
