@discjuggler

it´s nothing wrong with Nero...maybe some are to stuxxx to use it :D :p :D ;)

as always it is a matter of taste

;)

I'm not aware of a MPEG-2/DVD pluging, just the standard MPEG-2 pluggin to allow Nero to encode to shit quality SVCD.

ChickenMan, the MPEG2/DVD plugin is a new plugin (not the SVCD one) for creating DVD's with the new Ahead Vision Express (a free addon to Nero, but without the MPEG2 plugin).

See the Ahead web site for info on Vision Express. ;-)

New indeed, but the encoded streams will NOT play in any standalone... just in computer- confirmed by Ahead.
Why use it?

Thanks ipdave. I just hope its not up to the same standards as their old one then. Nero has not really been known for quality video pluggins.

scarecrow, when you say it does not play in any standalone, you mean dvd player, even if the dvd player supports svcd standards using the mpeg-2/dvd plugin to create the dvd.

I have created a dvd it plays fine in the computer but when i bring it to my dvd player there is no sound playing.

Add unlimited MPEG-2/DVD Encoding to NeroVision Express

Add the MPEG-2/DVD Encoder for the ultimate DVD experience. Burn your movies to DVD and then watch them on any compatible DVD Player*.

Our MPEG-2/DVD Plug-in combined with your DVD Burner* and NeroVision Express is all you need to create full length, high quality DVD-Video titles.

Don't have a recorder yet? No problem, you can still make DVD-titles using the image recorder or recording DVD-Video folders on your hard drive! Of course you can use your existing CD-RW to make a Super Video CD (SVCD)*.

* Certain DVD Players are not compatible with certain disc formats. Please check with the manufacturer of your DVD Player.

Features of the MPEG-2/DVD Encoder:

true DVD compliant encoding and re-encoding of non-compliant MPEG-2 files
