?MPEG-1 or MPEG-2

how do you tell if a dvd is mpeg1 or mpeg-2, I ripped "ocenan' eleven", with DVD2SVCD, used the setting inthe tutorials and this is the messaged that I got. "The file "D:/DV2Svcd\Movie\CD_IMAGINE_FILE CD1.cue's is invalid, need MPEG-1, Which was encoded for Video-CD:Audio:44.1khz;
etc.
The Following Problems were found.
-stream encoding is invaded for a [Super] Video-CD
-No Video
-No Audio

I'm using the DVD2SVCD 1.0.9.1 build 1

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Ok... I'm gonna give this a whirl...

So you've encoded from DVD --> MPEG but you're klueless on what type of format of Mpeg it's in...

ok 1st try playing the file in any player (winmplayer or something) and check it's properties. if you don't get any details of what it is then i assumed you've turned it into a streaming format of somesort...

to convert it to MPeG-2 use TMPGEnc this is from the www.cdrsoft.cc downloads page!

Re-encode it once again to your desired format... and use you're Nero Burning Soft/w (but does't your Nero re-encode it anyway via prompt?!)

happy burning...:D :D :D

Thanks for replying,

I encoded as a MPEG-2, but that's the message that I got, and Nero wouldn't touch it. I used TMPGEnc to encode it. I've ripped a couple of other DVD's with no problems. Don't know what happened this time.

Thanks Again,

No worries brother...

i luv ripping and encoding stuff then decoding newthings...

i hope all turns out well...:)

Hey Guys & Gals,
I never did find out what the problem was, but the solution that I came up with is: I used Daemon tools to copy the cue file. loaded the virtual drive then use CloneCD to copy to cdr.
Hope this helps someone who runs into this.

Have a Nice Day,

Just burn your images with Nero 5.5.x.x, ...
File-->Preferences-->Burn Image,...and choose the .cue file u wanna burn!

Nero is notoriosly bad at dealing with bin/cue files.
If you have got a mpeg file then its great at making vcd/svcd.
I use nero for a lot of things ( I like it) but after many bad experiences with bin/cue files (not everytime) I use other software for this.
Even cdrwin is far superior at this. At least 3.8 was anyway.:)

DVD2SVCD 1.09.b2 bin files and Nero 5.5.7.2 work fine for me...
Sometimes i use also VCDeasy to make the bin files and burn.

:) Hello Villa21,
Thanks for the reply, I tried to use Nero, but it kept kicking me out the only solution that work for me was Daemon tools and CloneCd.

Everyone Have A Nice Day!
