Mp3s on CDR

I a new Nero user (ver 5.5 922) and I want to put as much music on one CDr as possible to play on the car CD player so the audio quality is not too vital. How do I burn music files from original audio CDs. Do Ineed the mp3 plug-in. Any help appreciated.

First tell us is your player will play audio cds or can do mp3s????I would recomend in any case ripping with eac to hd.........If your player can do only audio cds..rip it to wave..if it can do mp3.....rip it to mp3 format(eac--options---mp3--lame)....When you have all on hd..just burn as a data(mp3s)..or make a compilation and burn as audiocd--if your car player doesent support mp3....Btw....car-stereos fall far behind the home stereo quality...........To sound good...You have to make a good rip..And only eac can do that..period...there is a few ok proggys too....but no as good as eac.....Check a serch button..i posted before 1 good link--how to set eac........

1. don't do double posts in our forum!

2. you need to rip and encode your music from your AudioCDs to HDD in MP3 format; you can do that with Nero but you need the MP3-PlugIn; get the free MP3 (Lame MPEG-1 Layer-3) plugin there: http://neroplugins.cd-rw.org/;
choose VBR with "--alt-preset standard" as MP3 quality preset, that's good enough for a car stereo;

3. create a new DataCD (ISO) in Nero, Drag&Drop the MP3 files into this new CD compilation;

4. read the Nero manual; all steps (ripping, encoding, creating a "MP3 CD") are described there;

5. Welcome to our forum!

Please Do not double post your other one has been removed

How many MP3 on CDR <> depends on lotsa factors but if as U say quality is not a problem @128 kbs U will get 2 - 3 hundred depending on length.

Me Id have em at least 160 kbs or even more.

Nero does not need an MP3 plugin to burn MP3 to a data disk.

;):)

If quality is not vital as you say then perhaps you may be able to get away with 120bit mp3s ?!

you should just be able to burn as many as you can JAM/PACK onto a cdr (700mb) if your car/mp3 player plays mp3s from disk :)

just start a multisession disk with NERO and Just keep adding until its almost full remembering to save a couple of mb to close the disk :)

then play in your mp3 player :)

note if your mp3 player/car unit is CD-TEXT compatible then make sure it is ticked in nero options ..note here that really long filenames are a problem with nero so try to keep to around 60 characters or so possibly :)

Im guessing depending on the length of each track you could maby get about a 100 or so tracks on 1 disk maby more ?! :)

but...if you car player does not support MP3 then you need the nero MP3 plugin as POACHER Suggested to make mp3 into audio disks :) then you will be creating a pretty much normal AUDIO cd that will play in virtually any cd player ...the downside of this is you are really limited to just 80 mins of audio tracks (for a 700mb 80min cdr) and there aint much you can do about that :( ( unless you go for mono tracks/short tracks and i dont think anyone would do that for music ) :)

Thank You

Sorry about the double post. MANY THANKS to you all for this advice. I will try out your suggestions. Regards
