MP3 And MP3PRO

I done a test with MP3 and MP3Pro and I would like to share it with you.
Here's a test that I done.

3:47 audio from an audio CD:
MP3 (96 kBit, 44100 Hz, Stereo)
MP3Pro (96 kBit, 44100 Hz, Stereo)

And here's the results:
MP3: 2,720,102 bytes
MP3Pro: 2,720,729 bytes

And you can look here: hxxp://www.mp3prozone.com/

1/2 the size of mp3 -> well, maybe the opposite. :D
great sound quality -> mp3 size is a little bit less and also no need a player to play. :)
compatible with mp3 -> is this why MP3Pro is bigger? ;)

Looks like I will use MP3 instead! :)
And also can someone post some results here?

LAME codec compare to Nero's MP3 Encoder? I would really like the see that result. And also remember the include your track's length. :D

If you do compare, please include:
1. Lame Codec Result
2. MP3 Result (with Nero's MP3 Encoder)
3. MP3Pro Result (with Nero's MP3 Encoder)
4. The size of each file tested.
Thanks everyone! :)

yup...

to add. this...

1. lame rules in mp3 encoding..
2. fraunhofer encoder (in nero) sux..
(decoding is almost perfet tho..)
3. MP3 pro.. sux
4. madplay rules the mp3 decoding...

5. for you own use/storage..
introduce yourself to MPC.. (formerly known as mp+..)
half the size and double the qualety of mp3
at any bitrate..

get the encoder at frank klemm..

and a suitable frontend at speek:

i think you've got it wrong.

you can't encode mp3pro with the same parameters. that's not the point. the point is comparable audio quality at lower bitrate, hence smaller filesize.

the idea is that if you encode a standard mp3 at 192 or 128, you're 96 mp3pro should sound just as good when you play it through the special decoder. of course, if it is so, then you file size is indeed smaller then the sonically equivalent mp3.

i am looking into mp3pro at the moment as i don't know if i like it yet.
