I've been d/l large progs on dial-up all damn day! :D

Here's yet another essential prog I need to get too, thx LTR! :)

Here's the changelog...

* Mozilla on Windows now has support for NTLM authentication. This enables Mozilla to talk to MS web and proxy servers that are configured to use "windows integrated security".
* Mozilla's bookmarks have been overhauled. Bookmarks now include a root level folder, the ability to have two differently named bookmarks pointing at the same location, site icons in the Bookmark Manager and Bookmarks Sidebar, and separators now have support for labels.
* Composer now supports click and drag dynamic image and table resizing. If an image is selected or if the caret is placed inside a table, eight resizing handles appear and allow to resize the image/table with a simple click/drag/release. In the case of an image, the resizing is done real-time and a semi-opaque shadow of the image at its target size is shown during resizing. A tooltip shows in real-time the target size in pixels, and the relative change in pixels too.
* Mail now has junk-mail context menu items, a "delete junk mail" menu item and many other usability improvements for junk-mail controls.
* Pop-up blocking has been streamlined to improve usability.
* Users can now specify "blank page," "home page," or "Last page visited" for each of first window, new window and new tab.
* Users can now specify default font, size and color for HTML mail compose.
* Image blocking/disabling is now more flexible and users can "view image" to see blocked or not loaded images.
* "Launch file" after downloading has been enabled for .exe files
* It is possible to build Mozilla for Win32 using GCC. See the win32 build instructions for details.
* Proxy auto-config (PAC) failover has been implemented
* Mozilla 1.4 contains thousands of additional bugfixes, including changes to improve performance, stability, web site compatability, standards support, and usability.

Going to download it now!!!

On further reading at Mozillazine - the 1.4RC3 release IS FINAL (as was expected if no show-stoppers were revealed)

If you already have 1.4RC3, you do not need to update!

Mozilla shows the pages here faster and usually more reliable compared to IE ...
So .. I really enjoy using it :)

Small fonts in Mozillazine.org

I encountered extremely small fonts in mozillazine.org site. The fonts resolution is also very poor.

Anyone encounter the same. If not how to change the font size. I am using IE6

Hold down the control button, and roll your mouse wheel... fonts should get bigger.
Or even better, don't use IE6.

Good advice there friend. What is the best browser that you will recommend? :p

I do not need much out of a browser... I just use the best: Firebird (latest nightly build- based on Mozilla 1.5a pre), but Mozilla 1.4 final should be equally good.
IE 5.5 (SP1/2) was not a bad browser, but IE6 is as bad as it can be, and both are severely flawed, security-wise. Opera 7 on the other hand is more a bugs' collection than a browser.

Well been using and now using mozilla 1.4 .Think is one of the best.Firebird is also very good (base on mozilla) as scarecrow said.Opera is good & fast also!!
But I don't sugget Internet Explorer ;) :D

i recommend mozilla, haven't really touched firebird, but opera is a memory hogger(& has also some sort of spyware )

Firebird freezes on me:( Tried mozilla 1.4 and it "felt" much faster than opera and is really slick but imho not quite there yet ;)
Other than opera i use myie(IE), still prefer it to opera for banking and other "secure" stuff.

Alright, I give mozilla a try. Thanks friends for the suggestions. :)

Mozilla 1.4 appears to have been released with a serious bug (GDI Resource leak).
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=204374

Mostly a problem on Win9x/Me (due to lower resource limits)
A recent "fix" which increased the default cache size (and removed adjustment other than manual preferences setting) appears to have considerably aggravated the problem.

Extensive tab use, it seems, can bring GDI resources to crisis point in 30 minutes!

My Firebird release does not use more than 40 MB at worst, even with java console active (and I use several plugins and a "heavy" skin- so the bug must be OS related. I've tried it under 2000 SP2 (and 4), XP pro SP1, XP home SP1, and ME without problems, but ME is nuked by 98lite pro, so it's quite untypical.
