This question is out of place but I wasn't sure where I should post this as there is no "general" hardware catagory.
I bought a monitor. It had 14 pins in the cable. Plugged it up and the image flickered. Took the monitor back to the store and exchanged it for the same brand/model. This one had 14 pins also. Plugged it up and the screen flickered like the first. Taking this second monitor back to the store today.
My question: are all monitors supposed to have 14 pins? I notice that a monitor my dad just purchased has 15 pins.
I'm trying to understand why these 2 brand new monitors I purchased had a screen flickering problem. They both had 14 pins so I think they were designed that way intentionally. Otherwise, I just got really unlucky twice in a row.
