OH, GEE, I just bought a Lite-on 52x24x52! Now it is NG.Blane said:

Maybe someday there will be firmware to hack a Lite-on as they already did announce a 32x cd-rw speed. Not sure I would try burning cd-rw's that fast though.

I grabbed some 24x cd-rw media for my lite-on 52x a few months ago. It's a huge difference from the 4x cd-rw's I was using before. I hope they keep ramping up the speed on cd-rw's but I too think that were coming to the end of the line for cdr speeds. It's now time to pick up the speeds on dvd-r's without the errors.

Yup...in fact I ordered a 10 pack of Verbatim 24X from Amazon and should have them Friday.
I notice a place named Dartek, or something like that, has the 5 pack for $5.46 with free shipping. Have to try them out...I only have FRY's 10X now. I also have the Lite-on (Cendyne) 52246S.
I also have a 48X BENQ and it is OK but very fussy about the Fry's media!
