mIRC d/l manager?? (like autoget?)

Hello ALL:

I am sure you "guys" will know what I am requesting.

A while ago, while using some of the DALNET MP3 groups, I saw a suggested program to get files.

I believe it was so that when you are 20th, or so in the queue, it would wait, reconnect to irc if needed and download the queued files...with proper responses.

Does anyone know of the program I am looking for...or suggestions?
TIA

Most sites want you to stay in the channel if you leave and they see you down loading they'll kick you, do it enough times and you can get banned same thing for a down load manager use one and you'll get kicked, when I was serving and I caught somebody using one I'd ban them, most guys feel if you can't stay in the channel then the hell with you. My advice is to queue up what you want and wait your turn like everybody else. Use a good FTP client like Bulletproof, Cute FTP, Serve-U or flash FXP, one that will let you open muliti windows at one time, There are different sites, FTP and F-Server. with FTP sites the client program lets you queue up what you want to down load and when you logon it'll down load what's in the queue. F-Server sites you queue up what you want and when it's your turn it'll up load to you.
If you get a bad name they'll ban you not just your "nick" but you dsn number as well.
BTW They know when you leave.

Thank you. I was not talking about FTP in mirc. I was talking about the way they send mp3 files. NON ftp. Anyway, he does stay in channel, but when each song completes it asks for a confirmation. Also, if it disconnects, while waiting for your queue to come up, a manager will reconnect to the channel.

I was on one of these sites and they even mentioned one that worked...now I forgot!

You can also configure Mirc to reconnect in the event of a disconnect even to a specific channel.
That may help, too. I will look for that site that gave the hint on what software to get. Will post here if I find it.

When I was downloading massive amounts of mp3 from IRC a year or so ago, I used the getright (no, not the d/l manager from headlight...) tool in SDFind.

Now, keep in mind this might not have been updated in a while...

Check out SDNotice too, one of his other scripts witch come very handy in these situation.

In the long run, I always fallen back to 'manual mode', those d/l helper scripts being practically unusable in the real world...

good luck ;)
