Meritline Dvd's, they used to work

well i have a dvd burner from a sony computer that i bought off a friend, and its not longer in a song computer. its a a03, and the thing is that i bought discs from meritline.com, their brand, ive burned atleast 100 of them no problems. well i took the drive out one day to put in another computer and use it to rip some dvd stuff to that computer. the problem now is that it wont recognize teh meritline discs as blanks, it actually wont recognize them at all.. just keeps spinnin them. my memorex ones recognize fine...just all of these wont work. thought the ink could go bad or something after a while but they work fine on my other burner... any ideas?

Use them in your other burner...
Cheap stamped media change dye/manufacturer all the time- they always pick the cheapest ones to stamp.

Do you mean a stack you've BEEN using, no longer works in the drive, or some new ones?

I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence by mentioning that the A03 is a -R/-RW burner only, and if you picked up +R disks by mistake, they wouldn't work!

Changing the underlying brand would be more likely to result in unsatisfactory burns rather than not recognising the blank at all.
