Hi all this is my first post so sorry if its in the wrong PLACE!
Ive been a member for some time but down to chickenmans tuts ive never had a problem till now im running a
xp2000+
pchchips 825ulr mobo
512 pc133 ram
40 gig hd
16x dvd rom
liteon 52x24x52 writer
my encoding times are reasoble good using dvd2svd with cce 2.5
can convert and 1hour 30 min movies in 2 hours max!
i been considering upgradin my ram to 1 gig ddr 266 as this ai all my board will take and ive seen an offer on a site io cant refuse im wondering is it owrth it will my encoding time improve and will system improve on xp pro sp1

You may not notice any significant difference, but with the current RAM prices you should consider this upgrade as a bargain.

@ scarecrow I couldnt agree more My guy tells me DDR is actualy cheaper in the UK than SDR at the moment.

Going from PC133 ram to DDR will give you a small increase in speed of encoding, going from 512meg to 1gig will not improve encoding at all.

But as the others have said, ram is cheap at the moment, grab it while its the right price and XP will love the extra ram you through at it.
