Media Player Classic 6.4.5.0

The biggest change in this release should be the fully redone graph building. Every steps you can read here were rewritten enabling me to create a "virtual registry of filters". Now it is possible to block/prefer certain filters, override their merit, override their registered input media types which they are called in for, to load and use not registered filters from dlls, or for me to include built-in filters into the graph building process seamlessly without the need to break up connections and insert/replace filters in a second pass. The loading of filters from dlls (or *.ax files, as they are usually named) requires no additional knowledge of the CLSID or input media types from the user, they are automagically recognized. There are two ways to load them, from command line using the /filter switch, or from the Options/Filters property page.

Implemented a workaround for the broken DVD menu navigation when using the "VMR9 (renderless)" output.

Say good bye to DVD macrovision errors used to happen with 41.09 or newer nvidia detonator drivers.

Opens SHOUTcast streams. By default 3 sec gets prebuffered, I hope this will be alright for everybody.

Displays CD Text information for Audio CDs.

The Options property sheet got a new layout, now it follows the popular tree-control-on-the-left fashion. Credit goes to Sven Wiegand who published his nice MFC class at codeproject.com.

Multi-channel wma support. (thx Blight)

QuickTime part can open URLs, but its behaving very unfriendly.

When "remember window position" is used the player won't try to zoom itself around the center point and move its topleft corner.

The audio switcher accepts 32 bit floating point samples (I only know about the vorbis decoder outputting such). Be careful if you use Reclock as the audio renderer, it can only deal with integers.

The media types at the end of unrendered streams get recognized and reported more precisely thanks to the new graph builder.

/shutdown, /minimized command line switches, guess what they do.

AVI keyframes are now searched on a worker thread, this way it is not blocking the opening process but also it can take a few seconds before it reaches the end of the file, especially when the playback itself leaves a very little cpu time to it.

"Alt+Tab icon" fixed.

Commands to cycle audio and subtitle tracks.

The language settings on the DVD options page also set the initial language of OGMs with multiple audio or subtitle tracks.

Matroska's file extensions added to the format list.

Opens incomplete AVIs (no seeking) and *.part files from your favorite p2p program when enough data is available.

Mouse buttons and wheels can be assigned to commands on the "keys" options page. You may need to scroll the list control to the right a bit to notice the new column.

This is probably not any news for dual monitor users, but I have only discovered recently that even if VMR9 does not use overlay it still gets mirrored to the second monitor in fullsceen. This was a nice surprise to me who has already been burying this feature.

This player could also play RealMedia files with a codec pack without Real Player installed... :D

Here's the Real9 codec pack:
hxxp://www.waynesworld1.com/g/softwareguy/misc/RealMedia_9_Codecs.zip

I'm pretty sure the above "codec" isn't exactly legal- but personally I don't care... :p
In fact I've recently switched to it after the analogous (and equally questionable, legality wise) ver.8 "codec". Actually both are a ripoff of Real players, with everything unnecessary slaughtered.
Winamp, WMP classic and some other players use it just fine, while other stuff like Media Jukebox fail to intialize the 'codec".

Yep i agree, i never liked Realplayer, but these codecs along with WMP classic allow me 2 view rm files without installing SpyPlayer.... ahem soz realplayer

PS. do they still bundle comet cursor & new.net spyware with the newer versions, i know they did get in trouble in the past 4 this:)

Cheers 4 the codec pack softwareguy:)

Spyware is right, after I installed RealOne on my computer, my firewall jumps out with alerts calling that RealOne wishes to access the Internet... NO WAY! :D
It also adds some of it's updates application on the startup list and messed up my computer... (Change a lot of settings to make my computer all Reals. :D )
Anyways, even if I installed RealOne on my XP computer, RealOne will not play my video clips. When I tell it to open, it's GUI closes.....
Trying about 100 times and only have one success...

The codec pack is much better of a option as no junk no nothing and gives me everything I need... (the seek bar!)

Yep i had that when i made the mistake of tryin RealOne:(

Even though i unchecked all the file assosiations, it still made itself the default 4 everythin

& tryin 2 stop it loadin at startup, well let's just say making a clone of me would have been easier::p

Now if only i could find somethin like that codec pack, but 4 quicktime!?!?!? lol

Cheers
