I love SpamKiller, it send errors back to Spammer - works great

You don't say what version you use, but if you use v2.9 (I know the current is v4.x) then go to SETTING -> ADVANCED then uncheck the Connect to Update Server. I think it's the one but not 100% sure.

mcAfee SpamKiller

Thanks
I have ver 4.0.4.1
I tried no connect for updates but
the little icon is still in the menu bar and I am stll connected to McAfee's Security sender
I tried this
I deleted "mcagent..exe" and that seems to work - but what effect this has don't know

I may give v4.x a spin to see how it works comparing to v2.9

(wild guess) About the Icon, have you checked to see if it's loaded at StartUp and see if Windows or SK has option to disable it? Example, with Win98 it can be found either in StartUp folder or the StartUp in [RUN] "msconfig" there you can uncheck the BOX

McAfee

no option in start up or anywhere else
I guess they want you to have the Security Center always enabled
As I don't use McAfee's Virus check I don,t wnat or need Secutity Check
Thanks for your Help

OK, I just installed v4.x on Win98 system and I have noticed it loads 3 files at boot.

1. The main "McAfee.com SpamKiller" in the regular STARTUP folder START -> Programs -> StartUp

2. The other 2 "MCAgent.exe" and "MCUpdate.exe" in another (hidden) StartUp that you have to run the MSCONFIG (for Win98 and I don't know about other OS).

START -> RUN -> msconfig -> StartUp

Type MSCONFIG from RUN command line (may need to wait for some seconds for it to popup).
