making windows 98 se backup

i want to make a backup copy of my windows 98 se cd ( i recently damaged another one of my cds and being the nervous type I want to make backup copies of all my drivers and software) and I seem to be having trouble. i have both nero burning cd version 5.5.3.1 and clone cd 2.6 using cyberdrive CDRW 16 x 12 x 40. Both software pop up messages saying that there has been an error in the recording. When I compare both orginal and copy all the files appear to be there with the correct file sizes. Has it burnt correctly ???? can someone give me advice please. is there a special way of doing it or some special software that I need to buy.

Any advice, recommendations or assistance that can be given would be greatly appreciated.

ps I am using cd rw at burn speed 4.

Thanks in advance

maybe your write speed is to high check the the disc for writespeed and i also would use clonecd

On the win 98 cd`s you can use whatever you want, NTI, Nero, CD Mate, Clone cd, CDRWIN, GEAR, Padus, Stomp RecordNow MAX. To make a copy, but the only files you need is the files in win98 catalog, copy this and burn in any prog..

Yes if he wants that, but win98 se is not a bootable cd in the first place.

Win 98 se, comes with a boot diskette...

I lost my Win98se boot diskette recently. Could anyone kindly post all the files in a boot disk for Win98, since I need to restall my system? Thanks very much. :)

Hi and welcome hope you enjoy your visit here.
From Win98 go to youir control panel click onto Add/Remove which should been Add/Remove screen up. Now deah's about 4 tabs top of dis screen look for Start-up Disk then click onto it and make sure your av a floppy disk ready to make your start up disk. Now you will need to hit de Create Disk button...
And deah you go.... Well along those lines anyway. Good luck!:) ;)
