Making compulation CDs

Hey all,
I'm a audio newbie, what I want to do is make compulation discs, you know take various songs off cd and make one CD.
can anyone recommend a great and easy program to use. I have NERO but if freezes the cd eject every now and then or just freezes. Also I would like it to be able to give the name of the song when I am copying and not just track #.

I am using and 700 mhz laptop with a external burner.

Thanks.:)

search this forum for EAC "exact audio copy" this is an excellent freeware program that will suit all your needs it will also compress to mp3 if need be and also download the track listings from the internet database to name each track and you can also burn yer compilation with it too :D

@ kangaman Its the forums choice of most popular for most audio compilations i use it but i also use nero an as "joripe" says burn the tracks from hard drive with nero not from individual cds as that tends to be slower anyhow !:D

heres one
i use cool edit 2000 to mix my mp3's up to 80mins long, select mixdown all tracks and this generates one big wav file, save this somewhere. with nero create audio cd and load big wav file , click on the file and choose properties, you can now split the file back into individual tracks. BUT WHY, because you can then burn the tracks without any pause betwen tracks, this gives you continuous playback from start to finish but still the ability to select the desired track. to ensure no blip between tracks burn at 8X
Voila

Thanks everyone for there comments, you have all opened my eyes to the joy of cd recording. This sure beats the old days of making compulation tapes from cd's.
