Im starting to see places selling a magic 3.6 modchip for the ps2. I was wondering between the messiah and the dms for which one to buy, but this new chip looks quite nice. Anyone heard anything about it i.e any good?

I have a model 4 PS2 and I got down to G & D and said screw this. Unsoldered all the wires and put the PS2 back together again.
I dont even know where you would but a soldering iron, to solder in places that small. I have the smallest rat shack carried, Know where a smaller one is? Or a better way of connecting these points?
I have a 40x magnifieing glass I still said screw this, Theres bound to be a diffrent location to connect these two wires.
But as far as better some swear by the messiah, some swear by the magic , so its what you like some wouldnt do a chip at all
they use a filp top or a boot cd, or the neo 2.2 with a gameshark
think this Is what Im going back to much easier to install.

heard bad things about the flip and hate using swap tricks. Modded quite a few Original playstations and started the ps1 which I'm hoping is just as small so I expect it to be a bit more challenging than this becuase of the extra wires.
I've worked out to go for the messiah anyway. Seems the 3.6 is just a modified 3.1 and still has issues booting something so if you are ever gonna risk soldering all those wires may as well go for the best first time!!

Boot Issue
What I use is phone line wire for my + and grnd wire
works out better try this with the magic should solve your problem.
or use two 32 guage wires on the + and _ connections and on the ground solder the two _ to diffrent ground points.
Usually solves the boot problem. Ive put two in other units the place in hong kong where I got them recomended this, but they wasnt like the one Im doing now, Ill get it Just gona finf a smaller tip soldering iron I know there out there, .

about the magic 3.6. sorry to break but it to u it's a fake. It may look nice but i assure it isn't. What ur looking for is a Magic 3.1.
As for the preferece, well magic comes at a cheap price, it does what its suppose to do and that's it. The messiah 2 pro do what they need to do and they do it flawlessly. When u boot a backup in a modded m2 pro you'll find no difference from a backup to an orignal. Same goes for the DMS. ofcourse the DMS comes packed with a couple more features like a DivX player mp3 player etc.... IT costs more but you get what u pay for.
I bought a messiah 2 pro v1.3 and i downloaded media players for my ps2. NOw i can play mp3's DIVX, mpeg.... You can upgrade a DMS thru a CD and online. SO it's pretty good. 1 version to rule them all!
