LTR 52246s stops spinning?

I have an LTR 52246S that I have had little success burning CDs with. The drive would spin the CD for not even close to a minute then all of a sudden would stop and try to spin the disc again then pause, try to spin the disc again then pause, you get the idea. The drive would SOMETIMES if I'm lucky actually read a CD. I have the latest firm-ware and still the same problem, tried to write at lower speeds and still the same.

I have another burner in my system that writes at 8X which takes ages to burn a CD. but thats what I'm stuck with right now..

Any ideas?

i think it's a simple media problem;
try to get some better brands e.g. Fuji or Intenso, also take a look in our Media Section;

May also be a configuration problem. Fire up your burning program of preference, whatever it is (Nero, Alcohol, RecordNowMax, Burnatonce...) try to do something and then pass your log file here... it should help.
