Only writes at 8x and way to get it to write at 1x???

1x writing is impossible...even for my old 12102b 2x is the minimum.

Is DMA on and do you have media that can do more than 8x ?

I don't know what DMA is(i'll find out about that) I have verbatim datalife plus goes up to 32x a believe.

can you make it write at 2x??
