Lost CD and CD-RW drive.

I installed Compel ASPI and checker off this site. It shows have V 4.60.1021 installed and when I went to open up Nero showed no drive just image recorder. Went To Control panel and did not have drive D&E. My CD and CD_RW. Reinstalled Windows ME., and had drives back and CD burner working fine and CD drive. But when I dialed up and tried to go online if I clicked on IE. I get a message: Explorer has caused an error in <unknown> Explorer will close. If you continue to experience problems try restarting your computer. Well I have done that many times. Really crashes bad if you keep trying a few times. It also does it when open Netscape, Morpheus. I can dial in alright because I do that seperate and then choose IE, or Netscape. Had no problems before this happened. Can ASPI cause problems with these browsers?I am at a complete loss as what to do. Also updated IE 5.50 to IE 6.0 I had it on disk, same result. Thanks Steve.
