losing network connection after trying to uninstall norton system works 2004

please help!

I am on win2k sp3. i had nsw 2004 installed fine before; my HD had major trouble so i had to format it and after the format, i can't reinstall nsw; it keeps giving me error during the install process, so i followed symantec's suggestions to remove all traces of symantec; but i must have done something wrong b/c now after rebooting, i lose my network connection and internet; my internal ip changed from 192.168.1.100 to 127.0.0.1
i tried disabling the LAN connection and then enabling it, rebooting many times, do ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew but still no luck! what else can i do? i'd hate to do an entire reinstall of win2k yet again

i have a linksys router and from another computer, i went to http://192.168.1.1 and looked at the dhcp client list, and it still includes the problematic computer and its ip before but the problem pc can't see others on the lan or wan

I'm guessing that Symantec had a Layered Service Provider (LSP) component, so maybe LSPFIX would repair it

i solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling tcpip protocol but then it crashed on me again; i had to reformat it and reinstall the os and programs and then it crashed on me again and this time it mgiht be a different cause but i dont know what it is or how to fix it
