Looking For Alternative To Chkdsk /f /r

i wonder if theres'a third party app out there that does the same as chkdsk /f /r for win2k pro but faster than chkdsk; i have a lot of big HD's and when i do occasionally do chkdsk /f /r (b/c i want it to be throrough), it takes more than a day esp for this computer (5 big HD's)

also, just out of curiosity, i wonder if the process takes as long if u have little data or a lotof data in these big HD; would it be faster if the hd is more empty?

Have you check the HD Manufacturers website for any tools. Just a guess but thats the place I'd start.

you don't need to run the /r argument really, only if you lost file clusters and try to recover them; most drive's internal controllers handling bad clusters itself;
so simply use chkdsk [driveletter]: /f periodically to maintain your file system, and use the /r argument only you if got problems;
