Looking for AC3 Codec for xp/media player

Hi guys

i am looking for the ac3 codec for windows xp, i usually play my movies in media player, i dont know if there is one specific to media player. I have been told the nimo codec is is very buggy and to avoid that , and thats the only one i have found so far! which i am not using for that reason.

a very common ac3 decoder is ac3filter
works quite well with media player! (at least classic (6.4))
but next time please choose the appropriate section for your question
