Looking for a player comparable to WMP

I've been using WMP because it sounds great with it's SRS WOW Effect and TruBass. I'm sure there are a gazillion players out there but I'm wondering if any would challenge this. I'm using a SoundBlaster Live card on a p4 1.3GHz with WindowsXP. I know it's not the best card out there but it's what I have. Just looking for an alternative to Windows Media Player.

i would go with winamp also, i been useing it for years and love it, as poko said you have an infinit number of plugins to install

go fr winamp m8 far better than wmp.

for sound,winamp 2x and its many many pluggins owns even ram and cpu usage aint that high.
theres also a video playback pluging for winamp but i havent had much success with that.

if your talking about movies too, well theres a load of players, some more suited for diffrent media and if u need subs etc.
eg powerdivx, bsplayer, sasami, powerdvd, windvd...........
