Log error in Xp

Does any of you known this log message in windows Xp.
I've tried almost everything like ...reset bios settings, put a different ram module etc etc. Please can anybody help me!!!

AMLI: ACPI BIOS probeert naar het ongeldige I/O-poortadres 0xcf8 te schrijven, dat in het beschermde 0xcf8 - 0xcff-adresbereik ligt. Dit leidt mogelijk tot een instabiel systeem. Neem voor technische ondersteuning contact op met de leverancier van het systeem.

Since this is a write attempt by the acpi controler, you should browse your device manager to identify any devices using the specified I/O adresses to identify the faulty device if any.

It could mean, that you have/had connected an external device which is either not present anymore or does not support acpi functionality in a proper way. (e.g.: external usb drives).

however, identify the desease then find a cure ...

I must tell you that the first time i saw the message the ext usb was in the comp and active. mm indeed i removed my externel usb ..but after i reinstaled Win Xp i get the same error report. Also sometimes i get a "Dump of physical mem" i think it's related white the Acpi error repport.

mmmmh .... that physical mem error is typically not related to an acpi failure.

I hope you did a complete wipe of your system partition before you reinstalled winXP.

To clear the dmi pool in Bios also could help.

it seems you have ACPI incompatible hardware or drivers installed;

you could reinstall XP in Standard-PC mode (non ACPI);
hit F5 button during XP setup says "Hit F6 to install SCSI driver" some minutes later you can change to Standard-PC;
my both Win2000 PC are running as (non ACPI) Standard-PC;

I have the exact same errormessage. My computer crashes everytime when tis error occurs. Do you already found a solution ?????
