Liteon163d Prob?

Can any 1 help me out with the following prob. PLZZZZZZ.
my liteon 163d I can read normal CDs with it but when it comes to playing movies it just says DRIVE IS EMPTY when the dvd is in there I can open with Explorer and C all the VOB etc files but just can't get it 2 play movies... YES I have tried about six 6 different players all the same results Any help will B appreciated.THANX

If you would be so kind, could you provide the specifications of your computer and OS? Also include how the device is attached to the IDE controller (primary, secondary, slave, master).

Also are you usin H/W or S/W decoders to view your movies?
S/W to go for powerdvd or windvd ATI was good back in de dayz not sure about now.

When I had my first 163D, after a month I realized I had never actually put a DVD in it to play. Trying it for the first time, it just would not log onto the DVD and red light would eventually go out. Could play VCD's, SVCD, audio, data, do on the fly copying of all, just not any DVD stuff. I took it back to my supplier, they had LiteOn check it out and they finally replaced it with a new unit. New unit working fine.

But since you can actually see the directory of the DVD, then your problem is not the same as mone was. I assume your using WinDVD (or PowerDVD) to try playback of the movies? If not, then intall WinDVD (just do a forum search for a link).
