Liteon or plextor

ZoZekool, you have been on here long enough to see that the majority find Lite-On better ( & it is for the price you pay).
It does just as well if not better than Plextor at all copy protections EXCEPT some music CDs (cactus data shield, etc).
Both are great companies though plex has had a reputation longer. Still for the price, you can always get yourself a Lite-On & a cd/dvd-rom player that does cactus alright for the same price often of one plex unit lol.
The rest will go down to just who you like better I think. Can't go too wrong with either.

I know, I know, but i was just askin for a friend

I got a Plex 12/10/32 cost me £175 (at the time it was a good price!) and I have just bought a LiteOn 32/12/40 cost me £58 last week.So far both no probs at all. Writing a Clone image of `Black Hawk Down` LiteOn 3mins :) Plex 8mins :(

For stability and mass CD production get a Plextor. Plex can also copy Audio protections. For games perhaps the Lite-On is better, but with CCD AWS function the Plex is ok as well. Also check the TEAC CD-W540E which is an interesting cometitor and at a nice price, plus it has 2 years warranty and functions that Plex and Lit-On don't have or support yet (OPC, Mt. Rainer...)

I agree... The TEAC is much much better. I own one and I wish I could afford having a second one right now just in case...
