LiteOn LTD165 DVD trouble

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this but here goes. I have a LiteOn LTD165 DVD player in my PC and my sister 'foolishly' played a pirated DVD. As a result it seems to be 'locked' and when I try to play another -legal - DVD all I get is sound and no pictures. It reads data CDs and music CDs fine. Has anyone any advice? I'm in the UK if it makes a difference.

check ur dvd's region status & see if it matches ur dvd's region...& check if u've still got choice 2 change ur region location

there's a utility for setting lite-on dvd-rom drives to region-free status. u can find it at www.rpc1.org

Yep, I use the above on a 163 and a 166 and it works perfectly.
