When I upgraded to the latest firmware for the LTD-163D my,
LITEON DVD-ROM LTD163D
Turned to
JLMS DVD-ROM LTD163D

Weerd....

It stands for JVC Lite-on IT Manufacturing and Sales ltd.
They joined forces a while back

The bad thing is that nero don´t know the right settings for this drive. I had some probs with this fw and i flashed back to the last liteon version.

I thought that only was the case with burners
I have no probs with Nero

The GHR6f binaries over at hxxp://digitri.tk/ are setup so that your drive reports as a Lite-on and not JLMS. Courtesy of a hex editor. It is also region free.

Hmmm...yes,I noticed this too.Thanks for the hacked firmware.

Haven't tried the drive with Nero since the JVC upgrade.It still works fine with Clone Cd though.

i hate JVC, i hope they didn't screw up the dvdrom, cuz i've had a home dvd player of theirs since '99 (xv-d701bk) and it's been the biggest piece of sh*t i ever had

-btw, i was gonna start using the Liteon dvd drives in the systems i build

-how reliable are the drives (LTD163D)?

-do they have any issues playing certain DVD discs?
