I don't know. But, I can tell you that in the United States of America, the LiteON DVD burner is selling for around $300 U. S. Dollars. That price is "top dollar." In other words, mate, the LiteON DVD burner is hanging in the price range paid for the most expensive drives.

A disappointment to me, however, is the fact that the LiteON DVD burner only does + burns. It is not a dual-format burner that will do + and - burns to a disc.

For that same top dollar ($300 U.S.), I could buy a Sony burner that will do both the + and - formats.

I have long awaited the release of a LiteON DVD burner. I really like LiteON drives. I mean, I really, really like LiteON drives. This LiteOn LDW-401S burner release, however, has been a disappointment to me.

First, it's a disappointment because it does only one format. Second, it's a disappointment because the rumors were that it would be released at a price under $200 U.S.

So, even though the LiteON DVD burner is here in the United States of America, I don't want to buy it.

I'm going to hope that the next released LiteON DVD burner will be a dual format burner with RAW read/write capabilities that will shock the world.
