Liteon Bitsetting Download

Has anyone tried the bitsetting download off the Liteon website? I take it that it means a DVD+r can be read as a DVD-R. I have tried it but it will does not appear to take the change I try to make. Any advice.?? Thanks

It gets complicated, as some software may override it.

Nero, at up to 6.3.1.17 (I think) could control bitsetting for Liteon drives tha had firmware support for it - in later versions, it is removed, but can be fiddled with a registry hack - I'll post the hack when I find it again.
