A Windows RPC-1 utility (version2) is available. This utility can turn ON/OFF the RPC mode. When the RPC is turned OFF, the drive will became a RPC-1 drive.
Also, a tool is available to reset or disable the Region Counter. Click "Region Free" and your drive will be region free!
Device ID's:
JLMS DVD-ROM LTD-166S = DS0B, DS0C, DS0E / DIS2 (OEM)
JLMS XJ-HD166S = DS0F, DS14, DS18, DS19

Thanks Rasta, but this RPC-1 utility is not new. I'd used this a long time.
It's great.

New are the latest firmware release DS31 and the utility that reset counters.
