Pls Help - Lite-ON LDW-811S burn problem @ 4x Speed

I have a Dell Dimension 4600 2.8 Ghz 512Ram and a Lite-ON LDW-811S burner running w/Windows XP Pro.
I used dvdshrink and the newest Nero 6.3.16 and trying to burn on Ritek DVD-R 4X 4.7GB G04 discs.
It burns perfectly at 2x but when trying to burn at 4x it burns up to 100% but before it finishes, outputs the following errors in the log below:

I have also installed ForceASPI 1.7 drivers.
The IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers drivers I have installed are:
Driver Provider: Microsoft
Driver Date: 7/1/2001
Driver version: 5.1.2600.1106

I appreciate any help possible. Thanks

your 2. HDD and your CD-ROM aren't running in DMA mode;
read here how to enable: http://www.dvdrbase.com/showthread.php?t=32137

besides this i didn't found anything suspicious, but my knowledge in this is limited;

i enabled DMA mode on all the drives and it burns completely on 2x and 4x
I ran Kprobe and I'm getting real high PI and PO errors
PI is ranging 600 to 1200
P0 is around 201 to 209

I tried changing firmwares to HS0K, HS0E, and HS0Q
Any ideas what could be the problem?

I had a lot of problems using Nero burning DVDs so I would say that could be your problem. I say try burnatonce 0.99b but make sure its 0.99b. The newer one is a headace to set up IMO. What the heck its freeware.
Lets us know how you make out. :)

ASPI doesn't seem being properly installed (but won't harm Nero if its not present).
What are you doing wrong is the burning MODE, you have picked up MODE1 with the ISO9660 restrictions satisfied. That is wrong- pick up UDF 1.02 with Joliet extensions.

how can you tell that my ASPI layer is having a problem?

so for burning a DVD movie you're saying i shouldn't use the dvd-video template feature in nero and should go with the DVD-UDF and just make the video_ts + audio_ts folders?

what does joilet extensions do exactly?

Because the driver does not appear as active at the end of your logfile...

I don't know what you've done wrong, but
Burning mode : DAO
Mode : 1
ISO Level : 1 (Max. of 11 = 8 + 3 char)
Character set : ISO 9660
Joliet : TRUE
Allow pathdepth more than 8 directories : FALSE
Allow more than 255 characters in path : FALSE
Write ISO9660 ;1 file extensions : TRUE

surely ain't terribly right for burning Video DVD's, and almost surely not the defaults for the Nero DVD-Video template (I just guess... I don't use Nero at all so I cannot sware on that).
Joliet extensions will allow your mainstream computer reading all filenames and directory structures properly, a standalone DVD player is not affected at all from their presence.
By the way, your secondary 120 GB Western Digital harddisk is running at PIO4 mode which should make it running very slowly.

The best you can do with an untouched 0.99b and a Lite-On DVD burner is a coaster (probably not even that- it will spit the blank before starting burning).
You can use BAO with non-Pioneer burners only combined with pro-DVD which is not part of the package (nor it will ever be, I guess), and for just DVD burning the latest BAO version is much better than 0.99b.

Absolutely untrue!!! I have a Optrite DD0401 and I burn G04's with 0.99b that are more compatible with a wider range of DVD players. I say that knowing if for a fact and thats coming from someone for the longest time didn't like BAO. As far prodvd goes not worth the trouble!!!. Think about it why do you have to email him to get a free program to work. Let also not forget what a pain it is to get it to work for a newbies and multisession I wouldn't even talk about that (go read BAO forums if you want to know). Prodvd may be a good program but as far as I'm concerned I'll never know.
I still never got any answers to any of my email and yes I sent them like he wanted. But if you read its a big problem with him not sending any response to emails!!!

Did you try dvd+r too,buddy?

My Sony DRU500A didn't work with bao and dvdrecord...
Thats funny. No it didn't work and it gives me this for part of the error:
Found DVD+ media but DVD+R/DVD+RW support code is missing.
If you need DVD+R/DVD+RW support, ask the Author for cdrecord-ProDVD.
Sorry, no CD/DVD-Recorder or unsupported CD/DVD-Recorder found on this target.
