lip sync problem

hello everyone

I'm a rookie trying to burn dvd-rs following CM's tutorial

when working on a dvd after the maestro has finished I noticed a lip sync. error as predicted in the text

although I made the corrections according to the guide the problem still remains, any suggestions ?

A bit more info, is it an AVI or a DVD your converting ?

How is the lip synce out? Is it out by a constant amount throughout the movie or does it get worse as it plays? Did you check the MPG file that DVD2SVCD made for you, was it in sync or was it out also? Whats oftware are you use for playback to check the sync?
