Linksys RT31P2

i was wondering if the linksys rt31p2 is a router or a cable modem??..i already have a cable modem and a linksys befsr41 router....but i want to get VOIP so i have to get that linksys rt31p2....can i connect the linksys rt31p2 router/cable modem or whatever into my linksys befsr41 into my cable modem....would that b ok??.. or should i just use the linksys rt31p2 and connect it to my cable modem and leave my linksys befsr41 out??..

A strange beast...

So it's an ethernet input router (for cablemodem or external adsl modem-ethernet).
With analog phone to Sip-phone conversion.

Another strange and no doubt expensive device I've seen mentioned is a Wifi cordless Sip-phone (works with a Wifi router and SIP service).
