Link to WSES needed

I am looking for the Lite-On WSES (Write Strategy Eval System.) Can't find it any more on CD Freaks. Does anyone here know of a working link or have a way that I can download it.
TIA

The link that I posted is still working. I just did it this morning (Jan. 04). Look for "LiteOn Write Strategy Eval Sys (WSES)" and click on D/L.

I agree with LTR12101B, don't use it without some prep research. The .rar from CDR-Info contains a .pdf guide to the program which will help you to use the program without permenantly scrambling your drive and it gives information needed to understand what the program can do.

Read the .pdf file before using. I hope that I have done this correctly. I've never posted with attachment before.

It seems that CDR-Info has removed this proggie from that page... it WAS there yesterday.

But yes, you uploaded it fine cadjak.. the file is intact. Good show! However, you metioned a .pdf file? It's not part of this .rar file you just uploaded.

Once again, read the thread on the link LTR12101B provided above. You must understand how to use WSES before your first time usage. Several peeps have toasted their LiteOns beyond repair using it. This program is only for the advanced user... so don't come crying that you toasted your drive. You have been warned!

You are right. I had 2 versions of wses.rar and uploaded the one without the users guide. Here is the one with the .pdf guide to WSES.

Thanks cadjak! This is the same one I have. You need some of those .bin files (included in the second attachment) for it to work.

Since there were a few PMs on the subject, there are 3 things to note before you download...

1) WSES is designed to work only with LiteOn drives with MediaTek chipsets 32x and higher. OEM's, rebrands, and some older LiteOn MediaTek drives should work, but are mostly untested.

2) WSES only fully works under DOS and will not work in a DOS box.

3) WSES only works on FAT32 partitions

I just tried out CD Doctor - works fine with my LTR12101B

Well, "good" burns came back with 21 peak, 1.5 average C1, no C2 (I used max speed, but I think it's more accurate at 8x).

A known poor audio CD came back with a lot of C1 errors, and patches of C2 - and this is a drive that EAC can't do the C2 trick with, and ISTR that CDspeed quality and scandisc tests locked it up.

A good alternative to the risky DOS-mode WSES.
