For all those who argued my method. Please read carefully!
I often used and suggest others to use the “renaming method” with .dat (from vcd) and .vob (from dvd) files. I suggest users to copy from a vcd to hard disk the dat file and then rename it to mpeg or rip from dvd the vob file and rename as mpeg. Doing this everyone is able to burn or work, edit the mpeg file in a way he wants!
The answers I got were: that’s not correct, that makes no sense, you are wrong, dat is not mpeg, vob is not mpeg, stop now, and close the thread and more such things. But NEVER, ANYONE gave me the reason WHY I AM WRONG!
So I had to look by myself, to find out where I am wrong. (Because all advanced users, gold members, mods and admins could not answers me).
Now to my research results:
I rip a dvd; this gave me a vob file. I copy this vob file to a different folder and rename it to mpeg. I open Total (windows) commander and “compare by content” the two files (vob-mpeg). The result was: “THE TWO FILES ARE IDENTICAL”
Is now anyone (the people I inquire they know who they are) to explain me this?
Thank you!
