some of the "new" features like yuv processing and playing in the window and yuy2 output etc are really just catchups to what programs like Xmpeg and DVDx have been doing for ages.
other new features like using the flout.api is yet to be proven good or bad. way to early to comment on that.

it is good to see that Flask has finally started to catch up to what other software has been doing. hopefully it will continue to be updated now and not get left behind as version 0.6 was.
