laptop problem

hi guys
i have a problem i have a ancient laptop and the inverter that supplies power supply to screen backlight blew up about twelve months ago
no luck tracing a replacement from any source ive tried

seems a shame to just throw it away so my question is this has anybody similar problem anyone know of a source

is there a company that dismantles laptops for spares?

i believe the maker of laptop is cic ft6720 amd k62400
the screen is a torisan tft lcm tm121sv-02lo1

any suggestions would be great

Well hope you come good in the end bro. If that fails just kick in laptop spares in yahoo search engine you will find many from there.
Dam could of sold you a Sony but gave it to the wife now.
