laptop mobo

ok this may belong in laptop....but i'm not sure....

My neightbor offered me a lappy for 100 bucks.... but he says it didn't come with an AC adapter so his buddy had one and it was the wrong voltage or something and he said he shorted out the mobo....but i also heard it could just be the power supply PCB....if anyone knows where i can find these parts for a Dell Inspiron 3000 tell me.....btw i haven't bought it yet just making sure i can find the parts....

Spare parts for such old laptops cost more than a working, used one...

could be very easy fix sometime they have fuse in them or protectoin doides

dont ask me to describe what they doide look like

and not sure if they will but almost worth a gamble

could be fixed for about £10 or less
