Keyboard on installation

Hi,

I have a french version of Windows 98. But when installing on a pc, the default keyboard is french (france) but I would like it to be french (Canadian french).

Is it possible? How?
Is it the same for Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME?

Depends what you mean by "Default" - I thought it gave you the option to set this on install - or are you trying to get to a "zero user input" install?

A vague memory suggests that there may be some way to track the parameters used in one install, and store them for use in another, but it's a long time (too long) since I last re-installed

How dare you using windows without reinstalling :)

Not necesseray unattended install. I think it is not possible with win9X... anyway.

When I begin the installation, the first thing asked is the serial number. But try to enter the serial number when you don't have the good keyboard!!! (azerty instead of qwerty :( ) I just want to be able to make input correclty...
(french is azerty, canadian french is qwerty why those stupid difference??? french is french, don't you think??? theres no difference between france's french and quebec's french and belgiumn french god danmit!!! (written, not spoke :) ))

tanx :)

Aahhhhhhhhhh Win 98 those were the days.. :D
Anyway from what I remember this is for Keyboard go to Settings >Control Panel>Keyboard Once you selected Keyboard Use Add this will or should allow you to add your language you need select language and press save or ok or both.
Also you may want to change you Regional settings for what ever reason.. Go to Settings >Control Panel>Regional settings Once you selected Reginonal settings Use tab down button I think or a scroll key...set....then save.

ps Sorry If your going to do a new install it also has the option to change Language when installing... :D

tanx for the fast response :)

I know how to change this... But not in the setup process of windows 98. What I was thinking of, for exemple, is a change in autoexec.bat of the boot floppy that changes the keybord... or a change in some ini in the win98 folder... I don't want to take half an hour try to figure out witch key is witch key when entering my serial :( After setup is over, I don't care; I can change everything... but in the setup...
