kazaa avi files

I have 2 incomplete avi files, downloaded with kazaa. There seem to be only 1 or 2 sources and downloading is very slow (if it works at all). Dragging these incomplete files to the player has no effect.Is there a way to play them anyway?

If the files are larger than 10mb then use divx fix 1.07 to fix them so you can play them with your media player.
First copy them to another dir and rename them to something simple. EG: 1.avi and 2.avi then use Divx fix to correct them. Play em and see what you downloaded.

That doesn't work.
"This is not an avi file" according to the program. The extension in Kazaa is avi, so I don't know which is right.
