I just purchased an LG DVD/RW and also purchases some blank DVD's also a blank DVD+RW,s. I purchased the Movie Finding Nero and tried to copy it so I can store the original. I was using easy cd creator platium 5. It told me that I did not have enought room to copy. someone told me to download dvd Decrypter which I did. Then I was told to buy DVD X COPY EXPRESS as it would copy DVD'd to one disk. I did that too, but I still have the same problem....not enought space . I used the decrypter and was able to copy the movie to my hard drive but when I try to use the dvd x copy it will not let me copy from my hard drive only from my dvd player. Someone else took me to zip the file that I downloaded to my harddrive and then to use a file splitter so that I could copy the movie onto 2 disks. First the winzip would not let me zip it. Using Winzip 6.1. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME DO THIS.

Please browse through our tutorial section. You'll definitely find your answers there. I'm surprised DVD X COPY EXPRESS didn't work but, you cannot do a direct dvd to dvd copy because store bought dvds are 8.5 gbs and blank dvds are only 4.7gbs.

How can I possibly use DVD X COPY EXPRESS then if I cannot do a direct copy. It will only direct me to my DVD drive and not let me go to my harddrive. I did not know that store bought dvds are 8.5 gbs thank you. Do you know if there is a way to make dvd x copy express locate my harddrive to copy from there.

Lot's of variables here om...

How much drive space do you have left? You are going to need at least 5 Gigs of HD space to burn your average backup DVDs.

Which OS you are using?
Win9x uses the FAT32 file system which has a maximum file size of 4Gig on any given formatted partition. NT (Win2k, XP) however, uses NTFS file system which has a (theoretical) maximum file size of 16 Exabytes (aka, MegaTerabytes) or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 bytes.

Anyways, please look at our Forum tutorials... it will answer your questions of how to get a 8.5Gig movie onto a 4.7Gig DVDR. ;)
