from what format are you making the vcds mpg or avi/divx !?

are you letting nero convert the files or converting and then burning the finished mpgs with nero !?

are you attempting to change the frame rate somewhere along the lines say for example from PAL to NTSC or NTSC to PAL !?

can you provide us with more details !?

such as original format of the source, how you are converting and what with !? , also if you are trying to make the switch from pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal !?

what media are you using !?

what burner are you using etc etc !?

please provide us with as much detail as you seem relevant to help us to help you :)

thanks :)

What player is it - the NAPA DAV311 is one that can be VERY quirky - it apparently likes the video bitrate dropped from 1150 to 1149.

http://www25.brinkster.com/fletchlinks/napa311/index.asp - tweaking TMPGENC for the DAV311. If you encode using TMPGENC (free for VCD/MPEG1 formats), then do NOT allow Nero to re-encode.

I'm guessing it might be that one, as it was one of the most widely sold CD/MP3/VCD players.

finally can you test it in another standalone player such as a friends or neighbours !?

this would determine if your standalone is the problem you may need to invest in a new one :)

Have you ever played other VCD's successfully in your player? If so, use MPEG Properties to find out specifics on what is working... then try encoding your MPG1 to match. If not, then you may have basic VCD compatibility issues.
