ISO extraction vs no extraction

Hi!
I've come accross this problem on a few occasions, so I feel compelled to ask. (Forgive me if this question belongs and/or has been addressed elsewhere)

The problem:
I download an image file in 15Mb rar's, extract the archive without any (CRC) errors. Then try to burn it with CDRWIN4 and/or BlindWrite. BlindWrite says "Size is not a multiple of sector size ...", CDRWIN says something to the same extent.
Then I open the ISO in WinISO, and extract it without any problems (well, without any _indications_ of problems anyway). My questions are:
1. What gives? How come WinISO is OK with supposedly incorrect image?
2. Is there any way to tell which image files HAVE to stay intact (file structure etc.), and which can be safely extracted. Or is extraction not a good idea under any sercumstances?

Any help would be greatly appriciated (of course).

thanks for the prompt reply.
I opened the ISO in IsoBuster and it said Mode1/2048 sector size. (And so did BlindWrite). I guess it must be the image itself that's screwed.
As I don't know enough about competabilities of programs, I am a little paranoid about any app that installs *.DLLs, *.VXDs etc into my Windows\System folder. And DiscJuggler installs _plenty_ of that crap. I'm sure it's harmless for those who know, but when I saw _how much_ it left on my computer after normal uninstall, I thought better not. I know it's stupid.

What about my second question pokopiko?

Thank you

Thanks again.
Other than in case of bootable CDs whhat other >special< reasons might there be to burn at once? Like SafeDisc protected games? (sorry I know this is really basic <-)

As for COOKED data, subchannels etc. I better read faqs before asking anymore :) (where did 304bytes come from?)

As far as DiscJuggler goes, on top of the pfc.vxd file there's about 20 or so other files it left in my \system after normal uninstall. If anyone's interested see attached text file. Now, I REALLY don't appriciate any program doing that. How am I supposed to know what wmsdmoe.dll does? or drmv2clt.dll? etc while I'm not "looking"? Im no programmer (sometimes I wish I was one). Anyways, far as I remember Nero and NTI weren't quite as bad.
