Is WinDVD supposed to play SVCDs?

Sorry if this question seems very green...
I created an SVCD (mpeg2) with Ulead DVD Workshop and with MovieFactory. Playing it with WinDVD 4 doesn't go all that smoothly :
- Does not show the menu, only black screen with the music
- When it does show the menu - it starts one of the videos automatically after some background menu music (that video was not First Play video)
- Sometime does not even start...

In any case, I looked at the help Index and did not see the expression Super VCD or SVCD etc.

Is WinDVD supposed to play SVCDs?

It plays mine great.
Smooth as silk.
I dont use menus.
I use dvd2svcd to create them.

WinDVD is one of the best SVCD players around. Sounds like your having probs setting your menu up though. Burn it all to a CDRW and try it on your DVD Player, that is the ultimate test, if all is well burn to CDR.
