IS there firmware for BTC drives

Best bet is to email Hi-val.If it uses a Btc firmware string you can flash it with their firmware.

Rebadged burners are often a pain because the firmware string is changed. That means means you must wait for new firmware from the rebadger(Hi-val)in this case.Usually new firmware releases are delayed for months if the firmware string is changed.

Not sure what your situation is.

Anyways here is a firmware site to check out.Being a newer drive there may not even be a firmware update yet.

my situation is that I have a 48x burner that has never topped 32x with the burn protections both enabled and disabled and even with rated speed media. Ok, I was only out $20 after sales and rebates on this POS. But if it will go faster, I'd like it to. Thanks.

Can't go wrong for 20$.Finding firmware will be difficult,I just did a web search.Found a few other people looking for it too.Best bet will still be to contact Hi-Val and see if any firmware updates are available. Also check to see what media will work with it.
