Is the Hauppauge wintv dbx fm tuner bad?

I got a little problem with my card or powervcr...could it be compatability issues? When i installed powervcr along with the original wintv software(wintv2000), the tv picture sometimes gets distorted like its scrambled and it rolls really bad but turns out good after i shutoff my computer and after running it after 30min to an hour....Could anyone tell me how to fix this or tell me if this card is bad?......I was also looking at the Avertv Studio card by Avermedia when i was making the purchase...should i take this card back and go with Avertv instead?..thanks for the help...i appreciate it

yes go with the avermedia AverTV Studio (pro) if you can.
In my opinion it works better & has valid winXP support.
The hauppauge winTV isn't a bad card though, but don't know what OS you're using & what are your settings with capturing things & such.
But if you can, try the AverTV Studio (I think it is better).

Thanks for the tip Shadoe...i might just do that. For now, i got it working fine with powervcr(took the advice of another poster saying that the card might have overheating problems..so i took off the computer cover to help ventilate it). But, I ran problems when i tried capturing with the original software (wintv2000) and ulead's media studio pro 6.0......i could capture video but couldn't capture audio.....btw i'm using windows me and an ecs group elite k7sem mobo
