Is Opera Spyware?

currently playing about with phoenix mozilla !?

allthough i prefer opera !?

what does everyone else think of phoenix mozilla !?

Phoenix is no more: already the nightly builds have been renamed to "Firebird".
The last Phoenix "stable" 0.5 is based on the core of Mozilla 1.3 alpha, and it is a very good and fast browser. Many nice addons available, too.
Starting from Mozilla version 1.5 (most probably), the Mozilla browser and Phoenix/Firebird will be one and the same thing.

thanks for the info and im using the 0.5 build as i did not feel the urge to test any that was not labelled stable build :)

also noted the name change to firebird :)

just read about this in a puter mag here in the uk , it also references that APPLE have released a rival to mozilla with the release of their own cutdown browser called "SAFARI" :)

not that im about to jump over to apple lol :)

Safari is based on the Konqueror (KDE desktop filemanager and www browser) engine. Having used Linux/KDE extensively I can assure you that while very good, Konqueror is still NOT a Gecko/Mozilla rival- W3C support is exchellent, as well as unicode support (which is still not perfect in Mozilla) but Gecko wins hands down in almost all aspects.

Indeed the myopera forum reactions are quite funny: a bunch of pundits that obviously don't know a damn thing, but trying to impose their nonexisting authority.
The inquirer article was hardly documented, but the reactions there are ridiculous (at the very best).

Hehehe me 2:)

Thought the last one was politely put & eloquintly worded:D:p

I really like Opera 7.10, it's not perfect & i can't get the mail client 2 work with the same settings that worked ok in OE & Netscape???I just keep gettin Generic Error(Invalid address)??

But as a fast broswer it wins hands down. i am running Sygate as well as it seemed 2 fix Netscape stayin in memory:)

I still get some DLL load messages, but have not seen anythin loaded that not needed

BaNzI:D

PS. I thought their apology was hilairious:):p:D

Spyware or not I still love Opera. There's no faster browser when you need to speed around the net trying to get things done.
