is my memory setting right?

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my motherbaord and I want to make sure I have my memory set right.
Is there a program which will tell me if its running at 333mhz (seeing its DDR333)?
Thats all I want but I can't find a program which will do this, anyone know of one?

I have a P4 1.6ghz
256mb DDR333

my settings in my BIOS are:

CPU speed: Manual
CPU frequency Multiple: 16x
CPU External frequency (Mhz): 100/33
Memory Frequency: 166Mhz

Thanx in advance :D

Have U tried SiSoft Sandra

I think the standard version will give U that info & also of any wrong setting, other than that i can think of another

BaNzI:D

dxkim,

Thank you soo much for sharing that little proggie.

What an awesome little program

This should confirm the CPU settings - 100MHz x 16 seems a low FSB and high multiplier - especially with DDR333 ram.

Even if it's actually DDR200, that's still rather odd - though perhaps a P4 1.6 GHz predates all this fast ram and fast chipsets?

There is not a direct correlation for 1.6 GHz and 166 - closest would be x9.5 for 1577 - or 1583 if it's actually 166.66

If it follows the logic that some older boards do, with options to run RAM at CPU FSB + +PCI (33), then you might find it benchmarks faster with the RAM at 133.

Some CPU's/chipsets are LOUSY with asynchronous ram timings (notably AMD/Nforce) - others (often Intel CPU) benefit from faster async ram timings.

If you've got time to spare, benchmark with the ram at 100 and 133 as well as 166
