Is my file Xvid or avi?

Hi
I have a 714mb file with an extension of XviD.avi.
I know I can convert to SVCD /VCD or DVD from the brilliant tutorials but which tutorial am I looking for: convert from Xvid or avi?
I attempted to convert to DVD with the TMPGenc which took 8 hours and was out of sync and resulted in a 2.1gb file.

get a program called gspot it will tell you what coded you need, then you will know what tutorial to follow.

Use the " How to convert you Divx/avi " tutorials

It doesn't matter if it is divx or xvid as long as you have both codecs installed
